2008
Layers joins the Dekimo group. Dekimo, located in Ghent, is focussed on electronic design and embedded software development. By coordinating the expertise from both companies, the complete range from state-of-the-art PCB design, electronic engineering, up to software development can be offered in Leuven as well as in Ghent.
Layers’ team has now grown up to 16 people.
2007
Layers invests in Zuken Visula and starts working for ASML (NL).
2006
Partnership with Dekimo for PCB designs for Alcatel projects.
2005
Layers joins Embinet. Thomson Multimedia (NL), Alcatel Space, Aimsys (NL) and Barco Silex have given their confidence to our company.
2004
Investment in Mentor Expedition tools.
2003
Layers joins DSP Valley. At the space division of Verhaert, Layers starts designing all PCBs for Proba-2, the successor of mini-satellite Proba. Siemens-Atea stops PCB design activities and appoints Layers to their House of PCB Design.
2002
Layers is asked by Zuken to become distributor of their Cadstar PCB design tools. We also do Cadstar hotline service for all Benelux countries. The PCB design team now has grown to 8 PCB engineers. This makes Layers the largest PCB design house in Belgium. Thomson and Philips Lighting are welcomed as new customers.
2001
Move to new premises in the centre of Leuven (Rijschoolstraat).
2000
Investment in Zuken Cadstar tool. Activities are enhanced with PCB Library Management for third parties, e.g. for Alcatel.
1999
Strategic partnership with Aadvise Electronics gives Layers more name in The Netherlands. E.g. Philips Research (“Natlab”) becomes a loyal customer.
1998
Company name is changed to “Layers / The House of PCB Design”. Investment in Mentor Graphics tools brings more market share to Layers, with customers like Philips Leuven, Ericsson (Enschede, NL), Hollandse Signaalapparaten (NL). Quality investment in Valor tools for DFM (Design for Manufacture) analysis.
1997
ISO9001 Certification. Move to new premises in De Vunt, Holsbeek (near Leuven). Cable Print, Datax (Telindus), Philips-ITCL, Icos Vision Systems and Satellite Services are values customers now.
1995
Good reputation brings Sprint Design to work for demanding customers like Philips Medical Systems (NL) and Tadiran (IL).
1994
First employees are hired. One is from Rotterdam, so “teleworker” avant-la-lettre.

Opel Antwerp signs an important contract for the development of control units

Substantial investment in Cadence toolset enables Sprint Design to aim for complex PCB designs.
